DOSWELL—The State Fair of Virginia returns this fall, and fair organizers are delighted to welcome back media professionals to Virginia’s beloved family tradition. Media access will be given to newspaper, radio and television personnel who plan to cover the fair. Media outlets should contact the fair’s communications team this summer and provide up-to-date contact information to ensure all pertinent contacts are receiving State Fair news. Themed “Virginia’s Best of Show,” the 2026 State Fair of Virginia will be held from Sept. 25 through Oct. 4. More information is available at StateFairVa.org. The fair’s Main Stage Concert Series will offer a variety of musical genres throughout the week, with performers including ‘90s country singer Sammy Kershaw; country-rock duo Lakeview; Richmond-based country and bluegrass group the Jack Wharff Band; country singer George Birge; Brencore tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire; country-rap singer and co-writer of “Dirt Road Anthem” Colt Ford; contemporary Christian artist Leanna Crawford; bluegrass band Red Camel Collective; the Amanda Cook Band; ‘90s boy band O-Town with LFO; and country music band Parmalee. The State Fair is held each fall at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County and attracts over 200,000 fairgoers. The event celebrates the best of Virginia’s past, present and future through scholarship initiatives, creative programming and a focus on the commonwealth’s agriculture and natural resources industries. Since 2013 the State Fair has awarded 2,903 scholarships and over $1.15 million to support youth education. The fair offers youth more than $100,000 each year in scholarship funds through 4-H, FFA and vocational competitions and specific equine, fine arts and horticulture competitions.
