The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County is Virginia's fastest growing multi-purpose venue, and home to the State Fair of Virginia, the Virginia Farm Festival, Illuminate Light Show, After Hours Concerts and other notable events.

Located just minutes from Richmond and Fredericksburg, an easy drive from Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach and a straight shot from the D.C. area, The Meadow Event Park attracts guests from throughout the United States for AKC Dog Shows, RV Rallies, horse shows, graduations, consumer trade shows, weddings and corporate events.

The 331-acre property is rich in history and features a mixture of newly constructed facilities and original structures. Thoroughbred racing legend Secretariat was born here in 1970. Three years later he blazed his way into Triple Crown history. Today his birthplace is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.

The 63,354-square-foot Exhibition Hall is climate-controlled and equipped with a show office, ticket offices, and a full kitchen and concession stand, as well as phone, fax and Internet capabilities.

It offers parking adjacent to the building and easy access for large-scale installations. Floor-to-ceiling dividers can be used to create two separate 31,587-square-foot areas. Outside are two 20,000-square-foot asphalt pads and a 5½-acre festival loop.


Surrounded by stately old trees in a pastoral setting, this exceptional Southern-style mansion is the ideal setting for private or corporate events and affords a stately backdrop for weddings and other special occasions.

Guests enter through a marble foyer and can immediately feel at home in the softly-lit, mahogany-paneled rooms. The first floor features 2,000- and 600-square-foot ballrooms, a marble gas-fueled fireplace and bar and a spacious caterer’s kitchen, as well as an 824-square-foot gallery and covered terrace that faces some of the original barns.

The second floor features three separate rooms, each with a private bath, that are suitable for bridal suites, corporate breakout sessions or smaller meetings.

The 6,984 total square-foot Meadow Pavilion is a multi-purpose facility bathed in light from its central skylight and sectional glass doors. If offers electricity for booth exhibits; phone and internet capabilities; and parking adjacent to the building, and the eight doors can be left open in warm weather.

This a heated venue with concrete floors. A large industrial fan installed in 2019 provides excellant air circulation. Although the building is not equipped with air-conditioning, guests have the option of renting an AC unit from an outside vendor of their choice.

The Meadow Pavilion is a perfect setting for conferences, banquets, holiday events, large wedding receptions and other festive functions.


As the birthplace of Secretariat, The Meadow Event Park has taken special care in designing the Equine & Livestock Complex. The 80-acre complex offers all the amenities necessary to host your next horse or livestock show.

Farm Credit Pavilion

The 42,000-square-foot Farm Credit Pavilion is equipped with a show office & restrooms. The pavilion has siding with several open doorways and windows to allow for good air flow and accessibility. The pavilion has a dirt floor that can be packed or worked up to serve as an arena. The clear span area is 100ft x 280ft with 25ft shed rooves off both sides. It offers parking adjacent to the building and easy access for large-scale installations. Water hydrants are placed at 4 locations just outside of the doorways. The pavilion lighting is high quality LED lights for excellent illumination and has a permanently installed sound system.


The Meadow Event Park has hundreds of acres available for outdoor events. The carefully landscaped property has been utilized for successful festivals, concerts, youth events, a 5-kilometer run and walk and, since 2009, the State Fair of Virginia. We continue to explore event possibilities for this versatile property, and our staff are eager to talk with organizers about the potential for new events.

Amenities include easy access via multiple gates, ample parking on asphalt and grass, a pedestrian tunnel under state Route 30, a permanent ticket plaza, vehicle and pedestrian paths, public restrooms and two campgrounds equipped for RVs.

This 874-square foot building offers a unique space for small meetings and gatherings. The building offers solar-powered heating and air conditioning, two roll up doors, a small covered porch and single restroom. Easy parking and a wonderful view of the North side of the property add to this building’s charm.
