Xtreme Chinese Acrobats

Juggling, acrobatics, feats of balance, tumbling and more. This talented group of acrobats will amaze State Fair guests with their special talents. See them on the Main Stage.

Street Drum Corps

March to the beat of your own drum! Catch the world-renowned, high energy, drum and percussion show, Street Drum Corps, parading around the grounds, daily. Street Drum Corps has been featured on America’s Got Talent, American Idol and MTV.

Heritage Village Music Series

Heritage Village transports guests to a different time in Virginia history. This year, in addition to historical reenactments, displays and artifacts, fairgoers will also be able to enjoy acoustic music to aid in their time travel. The Crooked Road On Tour at the State Fair of Virginia includes Mac Traynham, Spencer Branch, Corbin Hayslett & Hunter Holmes, Sandy Shortridge Band, and Jim Lloyd to delight crowds while performing in Heritage Village.
All of these artists are part of the esteemed The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail.

These performances are supported in pary by The Virginia Commission for the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts.

Livestock Competitions

Celebrate all your favorite farm animals at the fair! Many of the animals at the fair are competing to be considreed the Best of Virginia. Hardworking adults and youth come from all over the Commonwealth to compete. These competitions take place on the Southside of the property in Livestock Loop.
While Young MacDonald's Farm presented by Farm Credit, in Harvest Landing, is always full of your favorite farm critters, the information below shares the most ideal times to see additional animals at the fair.

Best Days to see Livestock at the State Fair:

Friday September 27th all day thru Sunday September 29th at 4:00pm (Dairy Cattle, Dairy Goats, Boer Goats)

Tuesday October 1st all day thru Wednesday October 2nd until 4:00pm (Sheep & Beef Cattle)

Thursday October 3rd all day thru Sunday October 6th until 2:00pm(Beef Cattle, Lambs, Meat Goats & Hogs)

Garden Tractor Pulls

Not your Dad's tractor! These souped up tractors are ready to race and show off their power. Located in the Sunbelt Rentals' Thrill Pit. Sept. 27-28, 6 p.m.

Ultimate Stunt Circus

Don’t blink! The Ultimate Thrill Circus is jam-packed with edge-of-your-seat, gravity-defying thrills and a world-class team of professional stunt performers. You’ll watch in awe at the Wheel of Destiny, Globe of Death, the Human Cannonball and more!


Wheel of Destiny: A stunt performer takes on the Wheel of Destiny, doing aerial stunts and acrobatics while keeping balance on the colossal, revolving apparatus.


Human Cannonball: Watch a stuntman ascend into a large cannon and get launched 70 feet through the air onto a landing pad.


Globe of Death: Multiple motorcyclists do loops at high speeds in the confines of the Globe of Death.

Skinny German Juggling Boy

Say, “Ja!” Hilby, the Skinny German Juggle Boy, is unicycling his way back to State Fair. Known for his wacky comedy and zany antics with a variety of vaudeville props, Hilby puts on an excruciatingly funny show for young and old alike. Brace yourself for hilarious death-defying feats, extreme balancing stunts, juggling, and, of course, a lot of German.

Demolition Derby

Back by popular demand, the Demolition Derby Presented by Papa John's Pizza crashes into the State Fair. Back this year- tiny crashers will get the excitement started with the Power Wheels Derby! Oct. 6 at 4 p.m.

Professor Newton and Kidz Science Safari

Come along with Professor Newton as he shows you some of the most incredible, interactive science experiments you've ever seen! A true STEAM education experience developed and presented by a veteran in children's educational entertainment, this 30-minute show showcases exciting science demonstrations with a theatrical presentation – created especially for families, all from the Professor's colorful stage! After the show, attendees can immerse themselves in the Kidz Science Safari, featuring fun, hands-on STEAM exhibits.

VPM | PBS KIDS DAY

Join us Tuesday, 10/1, from 11AM – 5PM for VPM | PBS KIDS Day! PBS characters Buddy from “Dinosaur Train” and Daniel from “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” will be appearing at the fair and interacting with their youthful fans, making for a memorable family outing.

The Richmond Portal

The Virginia Loggers Association Demonstrations

Logging is the third largest industry in Virginia. The Virginia Loggers Association will be doing demonstrations to educate fairgoers on its importance to the economy and how professional logging is beneficial to sustaining forests. Sept. 30-Oct.1, 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Famous Rosaire's Racing Pigs

And they're off! These crowd-pleasing racing pigs are back once again. You’ll have a swine time cheering for your favorite oinker during the daily competitions. Presented by Virginia Lottery.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting

The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association brings another year of excititng competition to the State Fair of Virginia. Don't miss it Sept. 27 at 5:30 pm and Sept 28-29 starting at 10 am in Ring 1.

Papa John's Pizza Garden

Pizza-lovers can visit the State Fair Garden to see how ingredients, used to make tasty pizza pies, are grown. Peppers, tomatoes, garlic and other spices are planted to expose fairgoers to what it takes to make your favorite snack. Also, guests can enter to win prizes from the pizza garden's sponsor, Papa John's Pizza!

Secretariat Tourism Program

The State Fair of Virginia salutes Triple Crown legend Secretariat here at his birthplace every day. Fairgoers can see his historic barns, pose with the giant 600-pound horseshoe modeled after his own racing shoe and take a “Selfie with Secretariat” by his life-size poster. Be sure to visit the Secretariat booth near the barns to shop for official merchandise and get the book “Secretariat’s Meadow – The Land, The Family, The Legend” signed by author/historian Leeanne Meadows Ladin.

Take a tour of the historic Meadow Hall to see artifacts from the Chenery farm and get additional details of the property's history. Tours are available Sept. 28-29 and Oct. 5-6.
From Sept. 27 - Oct. 6, tickets can be purchased at the Secretariat booth in Harvest Landing.


Blacksmith World Championship

The World Championship Blacksmiths, LLC is a group of positive, proactive folks with a lot of energy that is moving forward at a constant pace. This competition travels throughout the United States with a production of horseshoeing competitions.

The competition takes place Oct.4 - Oct.6. Competitors will be coming from all over the USA and Europe.


RAM Truck Ride & Drive

Check out the Ram Truck Experience, an immersive in-vehicle ride experience featuring Ram Trucks that showcase their unsurpassed capabilities as vehicles built to serve. Located inside the main ticket gate entrance, attendees have an opportunity to ride in the most capable production off-road truck in the industry, over a brand-new test track and get an intimate feel for the capabilities of Ram throughout the course.
