Last chance to get your State Fair Summer of Savings tickets

08/21/2018

(DOSWELL, Aug. 21, 2018)—Fair fans have less than two weeks to get the best deal on admission tickets, ride wristbands and season passes to this year’s State Fair of Virginia. The fair will open Sept. 28 and run through Oct. 7.

Summer of Savings online discounts end at midnight Aug. 31. Until then, take advantage of tickets that give you access to concerts by artists like Scotty McCreery, entertainment like the racing pigs of Rosaire’s Royal Racers and roving performers like the Amazing Giants.

With the special savings, adult online tickets are just $10, and child/senior tickets are just $7. This is a $5 discount off the regular gate admission price of $15 for adults and $12 for children and seniors.

Also available are season passes for those who like to visit more than one day. Season passes, which are good for admission all 10 days of the fair, are $35 during the Summer of Savings.

Once advance online prices go up Sept. 1, season passes will be $40, adult tickets will be $13 and children and seniors will be $10.

During the Summer of Savings window, unlimited ride wristbands also are a bargain; guests can save 33 percent. Wristbands are $17 instead of the regular $25.

“The Summer of Savings discount is one of the best family entertainment deals in this market, and we encourage our future guests to take advantage of it,” said Marlene Jolliffe, the fair’s executive director.

Admission tickets include all musical entertainment, as well as grounds attractions and roving performers. In addition to American Idol alumnus McCreery, gospel singer and seven-time Grammy nominee Natalie Grant and country singers Craig Campbell, Chris Lane, Dylan Scott and Trent Harmon, another American Idol alumnus. All of the 2018 fair’s Main Stage concerts are presented by Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance and start at 7 p.m.

For an additional $10 fee, fans who want to see and hear their favorite performers up-close and personal can buy tickets for Blue Ribbon Seating near the stage. All seats are general admission.

Discount pricing for large groups also is available. For information on the fair’s group sales program for parties of 50 or more, call 804-994-2891 or email groupsales@statefairva.org.

The 2018 State Fair of Virginia will run from Sept. 28 through Oct. 7. Information is available at StateFairVa.org.

The State Fair is held each fall at its permanent home at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. The fair’s mission is to increase agricultural and natural resource awareness and interest through educational programs, exhibitions and competitions in a fun, family-friendly setting.
