Other
Pets are not allowed on the grounds during the Farm Festival, with the exception of service animals as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or animals approved as part of an exhibition. Service animals are those that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task an animal has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

Volunteers
We do have a handful of volunteer needs. If you are interested, please complete this interest form here.

All other Meadow Event Park / State Fair rules do apply to the Virginia Farm Festival. Please check the FAQ page for additional info.

AGtivity Zone & Pedal Tractors

Take a ride around the track on an old-fashioned pedal tractor. Little ones can feel like they are out in the fields as they race around on a mini-version of their favorite tractor. Presented by Hoober!

Explore the AGtivity zone in the Meadow Pavilion and visit all of our partners with their hands on and educational displays and activities. Check out Virginia Farm Bureau's multi-part educational display and games. And visit with various commodity groups and agricultural organizations for games, lessons and grab and go horse crafts.

Whispering Pines Pony Rides

Whispering Pines strives to give you the best equestrian experience possible.

Owner and horsewoman Tara began her equestrian career at the young age of 3 years old on an old pony named Pete and went on to competitively show (and win several championships) in the Jumper and Hunter show rings in addition to competing in several regional, state and national FFA competitions.

Tara and her team of diverse and beautiful 4-legged friends look forward to providing an unforgettable experience!

*Pony rides will be an additional charge and require waiver*

Planting Seeds for the Future

The vision for the Virginia Farm Festival grew out of a desire to expand the educational components of the State Fair of Virginia into a new spring event in order to tell the story of spring planting and bring families together as we work to grow our yearlong commitment to serving Virginia's youth, families, and agricultural communities as Virginia's Largest Outdoor Classroom.

This event successfully launched in May of 2021 as one of the region’s first live events to take place! Over 6,000 attendees enjoyed being outdoors and learning more about agriculture.

This family-friendly event would not be complete without:

  • Meeting the farm animals
  • Exploring the garden (and maybe even getting hands a little dirty)
  • Playing in the AGtivity zone
  • Getting some fair food favorites
  • Enjoying food demonstrations & live entertainment

Check back for more information about tickets, entertainment, activities and vendors!
