SFVA Conservation Committee Restoring Wetlands
at The Meadow Event Park

Volunteers from Hanover-Caroline Soil & Water Conservation District, the Virginia Department of Forestry, Hanover Master Gardeners/Master Naturalists and students from Randolph-Macon College Environmental Studies Department joined the SFVA Conservation Committee and SFVA staff on March 7 in planting 700 hardwood seedlings at The Meadow Event Park. The seedlings planted, provided by the Virginia Department of Forestry at no cost, are part of the first half of restoring the natural condition of the 10-acre wetlands at The Park. The wetlands will serve as an educational site for school groups, the Soil & Water Conservation District, conservation groups and the public attending The Meadow Event Park.

Volunteers help with the planting of seedlings at The Meadow Event Park.
